Date of employment: MARCH 2019 – AUG 2019

Why do you want to teach overseas?:
Communicating with and educating people to help reach their goals is something I enjoy and is relevant to the profession of physiotherapy. I hope to develop these skills and fully experience the role of a TEFL teacher after my first spell was cut short by the COVID pandemic. I enjoy meeting new people and experiencing different cultures. My previous experience travelling and working abroad allowed me the opportunity to exchange knowledge and skills which I hope to build on.
Why are you a suitable candidate for teaching overseas?:
I have previous experience in teaching English as a foreign language, where I learned to teach classes at varying levels and ages in a fun environment using my enthusiasm for learning. Despite not being to continue my role during the COVID pandemic, I was able to progress the relevant skills during my time at university. While studying physiotherapy, I was able to work with patients of varying backgrounds and languages in order to educate them on their rehabilitation and conditions, to reach their individual goals. This helped develop my communication skills, as I would tailor my approach to each patient. During this time I also lead presentations in front of my peers, maintaining my classroom management skills.
